Axes, Oxen, & Men (Hardback Copy)

Axes, Oxen and Men, a pictorial history of the early days of the Southern Pine Lumer Company, describes the operations of a major sawmill in the piney woods of East Texas. Genesis of the idea for this book was the "discovery" of a collection of framed photographs in a Company storage shed about to be dismantled and the subsequent gift of the collection to the School of Forestry at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Frequent requests to hear the story behind the pictures confirmed this need.
